If there is a heaven on earth for scuba divers, it's the Galapagos Islands. This 4 day land based tour offers the perfect blend of exploring the wildlife of the Galapagos both above and below the water as we include 2 full day diving trips and a visit to the Tortoise Breeding Center. Add this trip onto your cruise or extend with some more days on land to further explore this incredible destination
Day 1: Arrive to Baltra and transfer to Santa Cruz Island
Upon arrival to Baltra, our representative will meet you and transfer you to Santa Cruz Island where you will reach the highlands of the Islands. Visit a ranch where you can meet the Giant tortoises of Galapagos in their natural habitat. Another attraction here is an excursion through the lava tunnel in order to receive an explanation of the geological formation of the Islands.
After lunch, you will be transferred to Puerto Ayora to check-in to your selected hotel.
Day 2: Diving in Gordon Rocks
After breakfast, transfer to Gordon Rocks which is located one hour away from Santa Cruz. It is an extinct volcanic crater with a sand deep floor of 32 meters. This is the most famous diving point at the Galapagos due to its strong currents and here you will be able to see species of open sea. Occasionally, you will see schools of Hammerhead sharks, rays, reef fishes and with luck the whale shark.
In the afternoon, return back to your hotel and spend the remainder of the day at leisure.
Breakfast and lunch included.
Day 3: Diving in North Seymour
Today you will be enjoying your second diving tour at North Seymour Island. The drive will be approximately 1.5 hours. Here you will have the opportunity to dive with white and black tip reef sharks as well as marine turtles. You will also be able to see barracuda schools and different species of fishes. The current in North Seymour is mild and moderate with a sand floor of 18 meters deep.
After lunch, you will return to Puerto Ayora and enjoy the rest of the evening in relaxation.
Breakfast & lunch included.
Day 4: Charles Darwin Station - Depart Baltra
This morning you will visit Charles Darwin Station before transferring back to Baltra airport for your flight to Quito or Guayaquil.
Charles Darwin Station is a reservoir of information on habitats and local conservation, as well as other fascinating relevant statistics. The most striking attraction of this station is certainly the Tortoise Breeding Centre, where it is possible to view tortoises of varied sizes and shapes.
