Island Hopping in the Galapagos is an amazing opportunity to see its vast scenery and wildlife without the expense of a cruise. This trip will take you to the islands of Isabela and Santa Cruz where you'll experience snorkelling with sea lions as well as hiking Sierra Negra Volcano, one of the most spectacular mountains in the Galapagos reaching about 300 feet and having the second largest crater in the world (6 miles in diameter!)
A chance to see the famous Giant Tortoises in their natural environment in the Highlands of Santa Cruz as well as a variety of other endemic wildlife.

Day 1: Arrive Galapagos. Santa Cruz Highlands tour
Arrive Baltra airport where you will be met and transfered by ferry crossing to Santa Cruz Island (10 min-ride). Once arriving you will stop in the highlands of Santa Cruz where you will visit a Giant Tortoise Reserve for an easy hike to observe to Giant Tortoises in their natural habitat. Arrive to Puerto Ayora, check in and accommodation at selected hotel. Lunch will be provided at a nice restaurant in town. Overnight in Puerto Ayora.
Day 2: Charles Darwin Station - Isabela Island
This morning you will visit Charles Darwin Research Station. The Charles Darwin research station is located in the town of Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island a ten minute walk from the Center of town.
At The Charles Darwin Research Station you'll learn first hand of the conservation and research efforts in the Galapagos Islands. See the tortoise hatchlings and breeding programs which are saving several races of tortoises from extinction. You will also have the opportunity to see the giant Galapagos tortoises.
We depart In the afternoon by speed boat to Isabela Island. Arriving around 2pm and transfers to your Hotel for checkin. Overnight in Isabela
Day 3: Isabela Highlands- VoIcan Sierra Negra
After breakfast, we take a bus ride up to the highlands of Isabela where we hike the active “Sierra Negra Volcano” which has one of the worlds largest caldera with a diameter of 9-10 kms. Sierra Negra offers spectacular geology and areas of intense seismic activity. We enjoy lunch in a nice restaurant located in the highlands of Isabela before we return to our hotel later that afternoon.
The remainder of the day is free to relax around the stunning white sand beach of Puerto Villamil.

Day 4: Isabela Island
Visit Tintoreras: A short distance from Puerto Villamil is the small island known as 'Las Tintoreras'. We may have the opportunity to see a small colony of penguins recently established in Puerto Villamil, often resting side by side with Blue Footed Boobies. Here a colony of white tip sharks may often be seen resting in a lava canal. You may snorkel or swim around this island. In the afternoon visit the “Arnaldo Tupiza Breeding Center” to learn about the endemic giant tortoises of this island, their development and the Galapagos National Park’s efforts to increase tortoises’ population.
Day 5: Isabela- Santa Cruz Island
Early morning transfer out to Santa Cruz Island by shared speed boat. Upon our arrival we will enjoy from breakfast in Puerto Ayora and will then visit Tortuga Bay, a wonderful beach one hour walk (five km) west from Puerto Ayora on a marked and cobbled path. The path is good for bird watching; it is easy to spot several species of finches as you walk along the path. The white sand beach is considered by many the nicest of the archipelago. Species may be found, including pelicans, blue footed boobies and marine iguanas. After our visit to Tortuga Bay we will have lunch at Puerto Ayora and the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 6: Transfer Out
After breakfast you are transferred back to Baltra airport for your flight black to mainland.
