Island hopping in the Galapagos is an amazing opportunity to see its vast scenery and wildlife without the expense of a cruise. This trip will take you to the islands of Isabela, Floreana and Santa Cruz where you'll experience snorkelling with sea lions as well as hiking Sierra Negra Volcano, one of the most spectacular mountains in the Galapagos reaching about 300 feet and having the second largest crater in the world!

Day 1: Arrive to Baltra and Transfer to Santa Cruz
Upon arrival to Baltra, you will be met by our representative and transferred by ferry across to Santa Cruz Island. Santa Cruz possesses all of the various life zones present on the archipelago, with wonderful birding opportunities. Whether it’s the bright red feathers of a Vermilion Flycatcher or one of Darwin’s finches almost every land bird present on the islands can be found here.
Continue your tour to at one of the ranches; lunch will be served at this ranch and the best part is that you will be able to explore the grounds in search of tortoises. Descending through the agricultural zone into the Transition Zone where the Tortoise Reserve is located, the introduced vegetation of the farmlands is replaced by native vegetation.
Transfer to Puerto Ayora after lunch and spend the remainder of the afternoon at your leisure.
Day 2: Transfer to Floreana Island & Snorkel at La Loberia
This morning you will hop on a speed boat to Floreana Island. Arriving to Floreana, your guide will give you some time to spend at the dock where you can admire the native sea lions and the “Red Marine Iguanas”, only found on this particular island. These two species coexist naturally in the dock´s surroundings. At this point, you will have an interpretation by your guide on how these species live, their natural behavior and evolution.
After checking-into your lodge, enjoy a delicious lunch before taking off on your excursion to La Loberia. Take a short walk along the shore and take in the stunning landscape of bright turqoise water. Grab your snorkelling gear and swim alongside playful sea lions, sea turtles, manta rays and a variety of colourful coral fish. On your walk back to town, enjoy a mesmorising Galapagos sunset before heading back to the lodge.

Day 3: Floreana Highlands - Pirates' Cave - Breeding Centre - Transfer to Isabela
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at your hotel and begin your day tour to Floreana Highlands. Your first visit will be to Wittmers' tombstones where you will learn abit of the history of this cemetery. Continue on a 15-minute boat ride to Cerro Alieri, a great site for birdwatching and lush vegetation. Over 48 different species of birds have been identified here, 56 % of which are native and 33 % endemic.
Later, continue to Asilo de la Paz. This is primarily a historical site where visitors can view a pirates’ cave and the fresh water spring, which is the main source of water for the population. Also in this place, the Wittmer family set out to live inside the caves while they were constructing their first house made of leather and stone. Return to the lowlands to have lunch, and then continue to board the speed boat that will transfer you to Isabela Island; this ride will take approx. 2h30 min.
Arriving to Isabela you can relax for the rest of the day on the beautiful beaches of the biggest and one of the newest Islands.

Day 4: Sierra Negra & Chico Volcanoes
Today will begin with a car ride to the mountainsides of the Sierra Negra Volcano. Take off on a two-hour hike until you reach the crater of the volcano. There you will have a wonderful view of the crater and with a little bit of luck, you will be able to see the Galapagos Sparrow Hawk. You will get to know the geology of the Sierra Negra Volcano, learning that most of this island was formed by AA lava. Enjoy a box lunch and visit the “El Chico” Volcano.
In the afternoon, return to the hotel and spend the remainder of the day at leisure, perhaps you can stroll along the beach and enjoy the marvelous coral sand and turquoise water of Isabela Island!
Day 5: Flamingo's Lagoon & Tortoise Breeding Centre
After breakfast, your guide will take you to visit the Famingo’s Lagoon. This is an approx. 2km trail where you will have listen to a story of the vegetation and geology of the young Isabela Island. Arriving to the Flamingo lagoon, you might be able to see Flamingos feeding in this lake. This is an artificial lake, which, due to construction related excavations, was filled up by the rain.
After this, continue to the Tortoise Breeding Center. Here you will learn more about the reproduction and breeding of the Tortoises. Later you will transfer back to Puerto Villamil for a boat ride to Santa Cruz. Spend the afternoon at your leisure in Puerto Ayora.
Day 6: Charles Darwin Station - Depart Baltra
Your final visit in the Galapagos will be Charles Darwin Station. The centre is a reservoir of information on habitats and local conservation, as well as other fascinating relevant statistics. The most striking attraction of this station is certainly the Tortoise Breeding Centre, where it is possible to view tortoises of different shapes and sizes.
After this, your guide will transfer you to Baltra airport in time for your outbound flight to Quito or Guayaquil.
