Costa Rica travel is to experience widely varied terrain which allows travellers to do many different activities which range from death-defying explorations of active volcanoes, visiting luscious cloud forests and tropical rainforests teeming with bird life, to relaxing on hot sandy beaches with cocktails, sun-lounges and the choice of two stunning oceans.

Escape the hustle of San Jose by soaking up the sensory experience of Costa Rica’s national parks such as Tortuguero, Corcovado and Manuel Antonio.

One of the main attractions in Costa Rica bringing thousands of tourists in every year is the enormously impressive national parks and sprawling protected areas. With over 500,000 plant and animal species, Costa Rica is one of the planet’s most biologically dense countries. While the climate is tropical year-round, the country’s rainiest months, termed the “green season,” start in May and run until early December.

Whether you are the type of traveller who loves to explore ancient ruins and the natural landscapes, or you are the type of traveller who loves a thriving, vibrant city full of excellent food, loud and lively music, and dense colour and culture, Costa Rica and our tours are certain to offer you the plethora of travel choices that you’re looking for.

FAQs:

Costa Rica’s dry season (December to April) is ideal for most travellers, with sunny weather and easier road travel, while the green (rainy) season (May to November) offers lush landscapes, fewer crowds and lower prices. The best time depends on your priorities – beach time, wildlife viewing or budget travel.

Costa Rica is incredibly biodiverse, with opportunities to see monkeys, sloths, toucans, macaws, frogs and reptiles in rainforests and national parks. Wildlife sightings depend on location, season and luck; guided tours often improve your chances.

For a well-rounded Costa Rica experience — combining beaches, rainforests, volcanoes and wildlife — most travellers spend 10–14 days. If you only have a week, focus on one or two regions to avoid long travel times between destinations.

Renting a car gives you flexibility to explore beaches, volcanoes and rainforests at your own pace. However, many travellers choose guided tours or transfers (either private or shared), especially if you prefer not to drive in rural or mountainous areas where road conditions vary.

Pack for a variety of climates — lightweight clothing for warm lowlands, waterproof gear for rainforests, sturdy shoes for hiking and swimwear for beaches. Don’t forget sun protection, mosquito repellent and reusable water bottles to stay comfortable during outdoor adventures.
