Day 1 - Windhoek: Arrive in Windhoek / Half day Windhoek City Tour

Arrive in Windhoek
Upon arrival at Windhoek Airport you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel.

Half day Windhoek City Tour
Depart on your guided city tour of Windhoek. Visit the city centre for a fantastic viewpoint overlooking the city. Explore the city with a local guide and learn all about the history and the people of Windhoek.

Day 2 - Windhoek: Windhoek to Namib Desert

Windhoek to Namib Desert
We leave Windhoek at 8h00 to allow us enough time to get to our destination by lunch time. From Windhoek, we are heading southwest, first through the Khomas Hochland Mountains before descending onto the plains of the Namib Desert. The Namib Desert, the oldest desert in the world, stretches some 2000 kms along the west coast of Namibia, with varying types of terrain, but it is here, in the Sossusvlei region that is known for its enormous dunes, and breathtaking photographic opportunities. On arrival at our lodge, we can enjoy a walk and prepare for a relaxing sundowner drink before dinner.

Breakfast included.

Day 3 - Sossusvlei: Sossusvlei Tour

Sossusvlei Tour
A very early start this morning for our Sossusvlei guided excursion. We aim to leave our lodge well before sunrise to ensure that we are one of the first to enter the national park. From Sesriem, we drive further into the desert area, where the early morning light provides excellent opportunities for photography. Once we arrive in the 4x4 car park, we can then explore this area on foot, with a walk around Dead Vlei and Sossusvlei, and for the adventurous, a hike up Big Daddy, the tallest dune in the region, offering breathtaking views of the sand sea that is the Namib Desert.

By midday, we make our way back towards Sesriem with a stop at Sesriem Canyon, a small but important landmark for both the human and animal residents of the area. We then make our way back towards our accommodation where we’ll have time to rest and relax before dinner.

Breakfast included.

Day 4 - Sossusvlei: Sossusvlei to Swakopmund

Sossusvlei to Swakopmund
Our drive today takes us through to Swakopmund via the Gaub and Kuiseb passes. Our first official stop is Solitaire, a small but important outpost for tourists and locals alike, and a popular place to stop and enjoy some more unusual photographic opportunities.

From Solitaire, we continue through the ever-changing desert landscapes before arriving in Walvis Bay, the main harbour in Namibia. Here we have the opportunity to visit the Walvis Bay Lagoon, a RAMSAR-listed wetland site, famous as the feeding ground for many bird species including the Greater & Lesser Flamingos, as well as the endemic Damara Tern amongst others making it an ornithologist paradise. From Walvis Bay, it’s just a short drive to Swakopmund where we will spend the night.

Optional for extra fee: Desert Explorers Quad Biking 1 Hour Tour (a guided tour which covers 20km of the Swakopmund sand dunes).

Breakfast included.

Day 5 - Swakopmund: Swakopmund to Etosha

Swakopmund to Etosha
After breakfast, we say goodbye to Swakopmund and we make our way through Damaraland. Along the way, we have the chance to meet the Himba, Herero & Damara people before arriving late afternoon at our lodge located just outside Etosha National Park, one of Southern Africa’s premier game parks and wildlife enthusiasts’ paradise.

We arrive at our lodge late afternoon and can settle in after a long day on the road in preparation for tomorrow, a full day game drive across Etosha National Park.

Breakfast included.

Day 6 - Etosha National Park: Etosha to Onguma Nature Reserve

Etosha to Onguma Nature Reserve
Today we enter the park via the Andersson’s gate, on the southern boundary of Etosha and spend the day exploring from the central gate to the far eastern gate. The park itself covers 22,270 kms², and gets its name from the salt pan that makes up approximately 23% of the park. Once a massive lake, the Etosha Pan is now mostly dry, with the exception of good rainfall years when the pan fills up enough to become a breeding ground for flamingos that migrate between Walvis Bay and Sua Pan in Botswana.

We game drive, stopping at some popular (animal) waterholes, before arriving late afternoon at our lodge. Tonight we can relax by the camp waterhole, an excellent chance to view those creatures that prefer to be active during the cool of the night.

Breakfast included.

Day 7 - Etosha National Park: Etosha to Greater Windhoek

Etosha to Greater Windhoek
Today signals the end of our Etosha journey, but not before a final morning game drive on the Onguma Reserve, one last chance for some amazing wildlife sightings. We then hit the road and time permitting, we can stop in the small town of Okahandja at one of Namibia’s largest wood carving markets, a chance to support small local businesses and collect some last-minute souvenirs, before continuing towards Windhoek where we say goodbye to our guide at Okapuka Safari Lodge. Here we spend our flight night in the Namibian bushveld before heading home the following day.

Breakfast included.

Day 8 - Windhoek: Depart Windhoek

Depart Windhoek
Our representative will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the airport for your departure flight.

Price Assurance

At Eclipse Travel, our expert destination knowledge and decades of travel planning experience come at no extra cost to you. While many think booking through a tour operator is more expensive than planning a trip independently, that’s not the case. We’re paid by our travel partners—such as hotels, activity operators, and cruise providers—via commissions, not by our clients.

Our team negotiates the best rates for you and ensures you receive unbiased advice, with no preference for any particular supplier. In fact, where we secure higher commissions, we often pass the savings on to you, giving us a competitive price edge.

Additionally, we lock in exchange rates at the time of your deposit, ensuring no surprise costs when it’s time for final payment. You can rest easy knowing we’ll handle the details with our suppliers. The only exceptions are national park fee increases or fuel surcharges imposed after your booking, though these are rare.

Take advantage of our team’s expertise and let us help you plan the perfect holiday—hassle-free!
