This comprehensive 11 day tour offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the 2020 solar eclipse in Chile. Explore the vibrant Santiago and wander the colourful streets of Puerto Varas. Visit Chile's premier Patagonian highlight - Torres del Paine with it's imposing mountains standing high above the aquamarine lakes and vibrant blue glaciers.

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, let us introduce you to the classic city we know and love on this 6 hour tour exploring the city’s most popular sites along with some of our personal favorites. Chile´s rich cultural heritage comes to life as we visit the iconic symbols of the city, including La Plaza de Armas (the main square), La Moneda (the government palace), the Santiago Metropolitan Cathedral and the spectacular Cerro Santa Lucia, where the city was founded in 1541. We continue to the bohemian area of Bellavista and climb the San Cristobal hill for a panoramic view of Santiago with the Andes Mountains in the background. We’ll also visit the Orient Sector, the most modern area of the city, with its impressive high rise buildings and classy boulevards before we offer you a choice of the activities designed to enhance your Santiago experience. You’ll be given the option (you can decide on the day) to visit the picturesque Los Dominicos craft market where we can walk through the artisan village and enjoy a tasty empanada at one of the outdoor cafés, discover Santiago’s impressive pre-Columbian museum, explore the historic Lastarria Neighbourhood or take a walking tour through the Mercado Central, Chile’s largest fresh seafood market where you can try some of the local cuisine on offer. If you’d like to visit all these places then just let us know in advance and we can extend your tour to do this. On completion of the excursion, you’ll be returned back to your hotel and have free time to further explore the city at your leisure. In the evening, you will have dinner at Restaurant Barrica 94.

In the morning, transfer from Santiago to Torres del Paine. Over the next few days, you will experience the best this area has to offer.
Full Day Excursions
Las Torres, el sendero de Ascencio
You will explore the Ascencio Valley, walking through beautiful lenga forests and getting up close to the astounding Towers of Paine. Throughout the excursion you will walk through bushes, streams and moraines. If you like horses you can take the option to horseback ride to El Chileno Lodge, which is located half way. Then you will continue by foot walking up towards the base of the Towers.
The Pumas track
Leaving the hotel you will border the west side of Cerro Paine getting a spectacular view when you reach the top of this hill. You will have the possibility to appreciate the hydrologic network of the Park, the Nothafagus forest, and views of the most impressive formations of the park.
You will go to Pudeto by vehicle. Here you will get on board the "Hielos Patagonicos" Ferry and cross the Pehoe Lake. After a 30 minute navigation you will start the trek towards the French Valley, which is surrounded by lakes, rivers and streams, with a wonderful view of the Paine massif. Once you get to the base of Monte Paine Grande you will be able to rest in front of the French Glacier where you will become a spectator of impressive avalanches that often occur.
One of the best ways to enjoy the sights of Patagonia is by horse. This excursion gives you the possibility of entering one of the most important places inside the Cerro Paine Ranch, with important forests, streams, and an open prairie of more than 2km where you will have the possibility to gallop through fields surrounded by beautiful vegetation.
Leaving the hotel you will border the south side of Mount Almirante Nieto, getting a spectacular view of it. You will also get to see Lake Nordenskjold on the way to reach the Cuernos Lodge.
The Lakes Trail
You will arrive to Lazo Ranch, a beautiful place from where you will walk into the amazing forests of Nothofagus surrounded by colourful lagoons and streams, which form part of the panoramic views of the Paine Mountain Range. When you arrive at El Toro Lake you will have an extraordinary 360-degree view where you will be able to feel part of the remarkable landscapes. This is a privileged area to observe flora and fauna.
You will get to Pudeto by vehicle. Here you will get on board of the "Hielos Patagonicos" Ferry and cross the Pehoe Lake. After a 30 minute navigation you will start the trek towards the Grey Glacier View Point. You will walk through rocky areas, evergreen and deciduous forests. You will finally be able to get a winderful view of the Grey Glacier and the lake by the same name filled with centenary icebergs.
Half Day Excursions
Horseback Ride Per Hour
Designed for people who have not spent much time around horses, this excursion will help you become more familiar with the animals. We will join the gauchos in the corral and stable and learn how to ride correctly on the land surrounding the hotel.
This four-hour trek takes us through Paso la Feria, an exposed pass through a narrow valley. We hike through a beech forest to the banks of Lago Sarmiento, where we will stop to examine a collection of calcium carbonate formations. You will explore landscapes of pre-Andean shrubs, and see the contrasts of the Patagonian colours with a majestic mountain backdrop.
You will arrive to the Salto Grande area by vehicle, and after walking in the area, you will find yourself surrounded by one of the most beautiful views of the Paine Massif. On the way back you will get to Salto Grande, natural union of the lakes Nordenskjold and Pehoe. This area is also characterised by it's richness in vegetation. During this excursion, which is half of the Full Paine option, we will see all the features the park is known for, with the exception of its glacier. Expect stunning views of mountains, lakes and lagoons and to run across a number of plants and animals.
This half-day excursion is the best option for people who would like to see the Torres del Pain without all the walking. We should see many of the plants, animals and birds - flamingos, condors, water birds and predatory birds - the park is known for. You will see great views of the Towers of Paine and the enormous landscapes that brought great part of the explorers into the area. You will visit Amarga and discover the different organisms that live there.
We visit the places where the indigenous Aonikenk people lived more than 7000 years ago. We will hoke from Lago Sarmiento to a collection of Aonikenk drawings still visible on a rock wall. We are likely to run into many of the types of plants and animals - such as guanacos, rheas and condors - that populated the land during the Aonikenk epoch and are still alive today.
You will cross rivers, go down sandy rock dunes and visit gorgeous surroundings. You will have the possibility to practice and learn about horses. During this excursion you will be able to enjoy the flora, wildlife, and beautiful views of the Nordenskjold Lake and Almirante Nieto Mount.
This excursion is designed for people interested in learning about the ecosystem of the Patagonian lenga forests. As we explore the old lenga forests in the land surrounding Las Torres, we look for Magellanic woodpeckers, Austral parakeets and Chilfliean flickers as well as the scat of various members of the cat family, including the puma. You will get to a great viewpoint of the Laguna Azul.
From the hotel you will border the south side of Almirante Nieto Mount getting a spectacular view of it, and getting to learn about the pre-Andean vegetation. You will arrive to the Inge Lagoon, from where you can also get a superb view of Lake Nordenksjold.

On day 5, you will leave Torres Del Paine and head to the Hotel Rey Don Felipe where you will spend one night.

On day 6, you will be transferred to the airport from your hotel. You will then fly to Puerto Montt, where you will be transferred from the airport to your hotel in Puerto Varas.

The following morning, enjoy a full day tour of Osorno Volcano and Petrohue. On this delightful excursion you will head towards the Vicente Perez Rosales National Park, where along the way you will make a variety of small stops, including Mirador Los Riscos (a beautiful lookout point featuring the Osorno Volcano) and Mirador Onces Bellavista, a nice spot to observe llamas, deer and emus. Once inside the park, pass a lagoon home to the famous Torrent duck and then continue on to the Petrohue River and the Petrohue Waterfalls. There, take time to explore your surroundings to the fullest and take some beautiful pictures. Afterwards, continue a little further up the path and arrive to the Todos Los Santos Lake where you will take a 30 minute boat ride across the emerald water. Following this, board your vehicle for a 40 minute drive to reach the famous Osorno Volcano. Once there, take a small trek to a lookout point where you can admire the Llanquihue Lake from a distance. A few steps further, reach the notable Burbuja Crater and a little further up, the volcano where you will be able to appreciate the Rojo Crater. In the afternoon, return back to the hotel.

In the morning, drive from Puerto Varas to Pucon, where you will be dropped off at the Green Park Hotel.
The next day, after breakfast, make your way uphill to a specifically selected vantage point. This will be our campsite for the day as we wait for the Eclipse which Totality begins around 13:03 hrs and will last for approximately 2 minutes. At this spot, we will have time to set up equipment and have facilities to accommodate everyone as we approach the much-anticipated event. We expect this day to be concurred by people from all over Chile and the world, so we will take our time before heading back into town, enjoying the southern landscape.

In the morning we will depart from Pucón and start heading east, where it will take around an hour and a half to reach the Villarrica National Park, a protected area boasting 63,000 hectares. Once in the park our hiking adventure will begin passing by some of the most important lagoons of the area such as Quillelhue, Perdida and Huenfiuca. During our trip we will be surrounded by lush native forests of coigües and monkey puzzle trees. During your excursion you will also be able to explore a short trail known to be home to a great variety of avifauna such as black necked swans, red-gartered coot and different species of ducks. After this, return to our starting point to admire a nearby waterfall before heading back to the hotel.

Today you will be transferred from Pucon to the Temuco Airport where you can continue to your next destination or begin your journey home.
