South African’s new e-Visa system to be piloted in New Zealand

The South African Government has announced that a new e-Visa system will be piloted in New Zealand as part of an overhaul of their visa program designed to stimulate international travel. The pilot system is planned to roll out in April 2019 and set to significantly reduce processing time whilst maintaining data security.

This is a very positive move for New Zealanders looking to travel to South Africa, as currently visas can only be obtained by visiting a South African High Commission or consulate in person after making an appointment at either Wellington or Auckland in NZ, and Perth or Canberra for those residing in Australia.

All New Zealand citizens planning to visit South Africa are encouraged to visit VFS Global (NZ) or South African High Commission (AU) for the latest visa information.
