Enjoy a short excursion by curiara (local canoe) over the Canaima Lagoon. The water and surface foam in rivers and lagoons are usually reddish, a phenomenon generated by the presence of tannin, an organic acid produced by vegetation decomposing under the sun.
Canaima National Park
At their best in the wet season, the falls cascade off the edge of a table mountain and thunder down into the tropical rainforest, feeding a bird-filled lagoon and Canaima National Park. Even now there is no land access; Angel Falls can be reached only by boat or by a light-aircraft flight.
Today will be a free day for optional excursions within the Canaima National Park. Optional excursions include trips to Sapo Falls and to Angel Falls, the latter either on a short flight in a light aircraft (weather permitting) or on a one or two day road and boat excursion with some hiking (during the wet season, from June to November). As the weather conditions can be unpredictable, we recommend organising these activities directly with your hotel, although they can be pre-booked if you prefer.

You will then contiinue on to the Orinoco Delta where you will be transferred to your accommodation.
