Day 1 - 3 - Maun: Fly Maun Airport to Makgadikgadi Pans / 3 Day Leroo La Tau Safari

Fly Maun Airport to Makgadikgadi Pans
At the scheduled time today you will take your charter flight from Maun airport to your camp in the Makgadikgadi Pans.

Please note: Your luggage is restricted to 20kg including hand luggage and any camera equipment. Only soft bags will be accepted - no hard suitcases or bags with wheels can be transported as they physically cannot fit the aircraft.

3 Day Leroo La Tau Safari
Leroo La Tau rises majestically above the Boteti River which stretches across the western border of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park.

Accommodation is in twelve chalets, accommodating a total of twenty-four guests in camp. Each chalet is incredibly spacious with two beds, one double and the other single. The rooms have en-suite facilities that overlook the Boteti River. The chalets are spectacularly built at the edge of the escarpment and have glass sliding doors opening to a private deck affording incredible views. The main lodge area at Leroo La Tau is built out of natural wood, brick and thatch, housing the lounge, bar, dining room, reception area and curio shop.

The Boteti River is one of the far reaches of the Okavango Delta as it filters into the Kalahari Sands. It has not flowed strongly since 1995 but thanks to high floods seeping down the river system in 2009, the Boteti River is flowing once again. Having explored the area and enjoyed a spectacular wildlife phenomenon on guided day and night game drives, guests can retire after dinner to a splendid fireplace overlooking the river. The lodge also offers a raised hide above the river where guests can enjoy the spectacular wildlife sightings that we’ve come to expect in this part of Botswana.

Leroo La Tau Arrival Day
On arrival into the local airstrip you will be met by a camp guide and transferred to Leroo La Tau Camp to get settled into your room. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to head out on an afternoon game viewing activity before returning to the camp for a delicious dinner.

Dinner included.

Leroo La Tau Safari
Enjoy a full day on safari in the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. The lodge offers guided game drives in the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park focusing on the exceptional wildlife sightings along the Boteti River. Depending on the water level, boat activities are also provided. Optional cultural excursions can also be arranged to Khumaga Village.

Leroo La Tau translates as ‘lion’s paw’ but, although the surrounding area features abundant Lion, Zebra and Wildebeest, it also boasts Chobe Bushbuck, Leopard, Cheetah, Brown and Spotted Hyena, Impala, Kudu, Jackal, Porcupine, Genet and Caracal, to name but a few. Please note: Owing to their remote location within the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, the Makgadikgadi Pans themselves are not visited on daily scheduled activities from Leroo La Tau.

Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included.

Leroo La Tau Departure Day
Depending on your departure time, you may have the opportunity to head out on one final morning game viewing activity before breakfast at the camp and a transfer back to the local airstrip.

Breakfast included.

Day 3 - 5 - Makgadikgadi Pans: Fly to Moremi Game Reserve / 3 Day Camp Xakanaxa

Fly to Moremi Game Reserve
At the scheduled time today you will take your flight from your accommodation in Makgadikgadi Pans to Moremi Game Reserve.

Please note: Your luggage is restricted to 20kg including hand luggage and any camera equipment. Only soft bags will be accepted - no hard suitcases or bags with wheels can be transported as they physically cannot fit the aircraft.

3 Day Camp Xakanaxa
The prime location of Camp Xakanaxa (pronounced Ka-ka-na-ka) on the banks of the Khwai River on the Xakanaxa Lagoon, in the heart of the Moremi Game Reserve, makes it one of the very few safari camps that offers guests an authentic, year-round Okavango Delta land and water safari experience. As passionate custodians of one of Botswana’s original safari camps, the owners of Camp Xakanaxa have mindfully created an authentic bush camp that blends harmoniously with nature, whilst providing guests with exceptional comforts and extraordinary experiences.

Arrival
On arrival into the local airstrip you will be met by a camp guide and transferred to Camp Xakanaxa to get settled into your room. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to head out on an afternoon game viewing activity before returning to the camp for a delicious dinner.

Dinner included.

Game Viewing Activities
Enjoy a full day on safari in the Moremi Game Reserve. Guest activities include a choice of morning and afternoon game drives throughout the many different ecosystems that the Moremi Game Reserve has to offer or the possibility to explore the Xakanaxa Lagoon and its surrounding channels by boat. This blend of activities allows for access to incredible landscapes, impressive wildlife as well as the opportunity to enjoy the picturesque waters of the Okavango Delta.

The ancient riverine forests, open savannah, serpentine channels and seasonal floodplains that surround the camp make for a varied habitat of exceptional fauna and flora. The camp is one of few offering a year-round land and water game-viewing experience, in open 4×4 safari vehicles or powerboats. The diverse habitat ensures prolific sightings of Elephant, Buffalo, Hyena, Giraffe, Hippo, Wildebeest, Kudu, Lechwe, Lion and Leopard, among many others. Birding is spectacular, especially in the spring and summer months when the migrants are breeding. Safari activities are conducted by licensed guides eager to share their in-depth knowledge and impart the treasured secrets of this great wilderness.

Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included.

Departure Day
Depending on your departure time, you may have the opportunity to head out on one final morning game viewing activity before breakfast at the camp and a transfer back to the local airstrip.

Breakfast included.

Day 5 - 7 - Moremi Game Reserve: Fly to Kasane Airport / 3 Day Chobe Game Lodge Safari

Fly to Kasane Airport
At the scheduled time you will take the light aircraft flight from your camp's local airstrip in the Moremi Game Reserve to Kasane Airport.

Please note: Your luggage is restricted to 20kg including hand luggage and any camera equipment. Only soft bags will be accepted - no hard suitcases or bags with wheels can be transported as they physically cannot fit the aircraft.

3 Day Chobe Game Lodge Safari
The Chobe National Park riverfront is quite simply one of the most impressive safari experiences in Africa and Chobe Game Lodge is the best location from which to observe the huge variety of wildlife. Just 90 minutes' road transfer from Victoria Falls, Chobe Game Lodge, built in 1972, was the first lodge of its kind in Botswana and has evolved over the years into the award-winning, fully Ecotourism-Certified luxury property in one of the most sought-after locations in the country.

Chobe Game Lodge Arrival Day
On arrival at Chobe Game Lodge today you will get settled into your room and enjoy lunch (time permitting). This afternoon you will have the opportunity to head out on your first game viewing activity before returning to the lodge for a delicious dinner.

Lunch and Dinner included.

Game Viewing Activities
Enjoy the diversity of the region’s abundant wildlife on guided 4WD game drives and take in the beauty of the famous Chobe River on a boat safari while witnessing massive herds of animals and prolific birdlife along the riverfront. Activities offered at Chobe Game Lodge include morning and afternoon game drives, and mid-morning and late-afternoon boat safaris. Chobe Game Lodge is fully inclusive, so you are welcome to do as little or as much as you please.

GAME DRIVES
Owing to the location of Chobe Game Lodge inside the Chobe National Park, early-morning game drives set off as soon as the park opens, giving you the best chance of tracking predators while they are still active. The afternoon drives depart the lodge in the late afternoon (the exact time is dependent on the season), only returning at park closure time after sunset, thus maximising the time you spend out in the park to enjoy those special sightings. The drives follow the course of the Chobe River as your experienced guide interprets the bush signs and tracks in search of the resident wildlife. Elephant encounters are common and huge herds of buffalo abound. The ever-present impala and the majestic giraffe are both common residents, while sightings of the puku antelope are also on offer. Predators are plentiful in the northern region of the Chobe National Park, and excellent sightings of lion, wild dog and leopard are to be had. The Chobe Game Lodge vehicles are open 4WD game viewers redesigned to make your trip comfortable and your viewing experience astonishing. Included in the fleet are several silent, CO2 emission-free electric vehicles designed to further enhance your Chobe safari.

BOAT SAFARIS
No Chobe safari is complete without experiencing the beauty of the Chobe River and its incredible wildlife by boat. The ‘skimmer boats’ seat up to 12 guests in comfortable, movable deck chairs on a flat and stable platform. The river boats are specifically designed to ensure each passenger can take in the magnificent Chobe views in complete comfort from anywhere on the boat. Owing to the flexibility in seating arrangements and the flat deck, the boats are ideal for keen wildlife photographers, with ample space for equipment and the freedom to photograph from any angle. Unlike any other water-based activity in Botswana, the game viewing while on a river safari in Chobe is unsurpassed anywhere in Botswana. Elephant line the water’s edge, hippo congregate in lagoons, hundreds of antelope and giraffe make their way to the water and sightings of predators along the river banks are common. Together with its fleet of electric land vehicles, Chobe Game Lodge has several electric and solar-powered safari boats – a clean and quiet way to enjoy a boat safari and another first for tourism in Africa.

Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included.

Chobe Game Lodge Departure Day
After breakfast this morning you will check out and be transferred to Kasane Airport for your onward flight. Depending on your departure time, you may have the opportunity for a final morning game viewing activity.

Breakfast included.
