Memphis - Sakkara - Pyramids of Giza
Today enjoy a privately guided full day tour with your Egyptologist to the ancient capital Memphis and burial ground of Sakkara, located southwest of Cairo. After lunch you will visit the Pyramids of Giza, considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the mysterious Sphinx which was carved from a single block of stone.

The Great Pyramids of Giza are the only present-day survivors of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, they are among the world’s greatest tourist attractions and never lose their ability to inspire and overwhelm visitors. Enter the temple of the mysterious Sphinx, an ancient figure shrouded in legend and mystery. Your Egyptologist will enthral you with the tales told of this fascinating figure.

Day 1: Luxor
On arrival in Luxor you will be met and transferred to your Nile Cruise boat. After lunch on board the boat you will head out to visit the Temples of Karnak and Luxor along the East Bank.

Day 2: Valley of the Kings
This morning you will visit the West Bank to explore the burial grounds in the famous Valley of the Kings and the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, passing by the Colossi of Memnon which was known in Ancient Greek times for their haunting voices at dawn. Return to the boat for lunch and an afternoon at leisure while the boat sails along the Nile to Esna and crosses the Lock.

Day 3: Temple of Horus - Temple of Kom Ombo
This morning you will explore the largest and most completely preserved Pharaonic (albeit Greek-built) temple in Egypt, the extraordinary Temple of Horus at Edfu. Return to the boat for lunch as the boat sails on and then this afternoon you will visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the crocodile-god Sobek. The temple stands at a bend in the Nile where in ancient times sacred crocodiles basked in the sun on the riverbank.

Day 4: Aswan
This morning you will sail on to Aswan where you will visit the High Dam, Philae Temple and Unfinished Obelisk located at the granite quarries that supplied the ancient Egyptians with most of the hard stone used in pyramids and temples. Return to the ship for lunch and this afternoon you will enjoy a traditional Felucca ride sailing around Kitchener’s Island and the Agha Khan Mausoleum.

Day 5: Disembark
After a buffet breakfast on board, check out and disembark at 8:00 AM.

Abu Simbel Excursion
This morning you will go on the guided Abu Simbel excursion by air (approx 4 hours). You will be transferred to Aswan Airport for a short flight to Abu Simbel where you will spend a few hours admiring the incredible rock-cut tombs on the shore of Lake Nasser. Fly back to Aswan Airport at the end of the tour.

Old Cairo Tour
Today enjoy a guided full day tour with your Egyptologist to the Egyptian Museum and the Old Cairo with its ancient Citadel, Mosque and the ancient bazaar of Khan-el-Khalili which is reputed to be the largest bazaar in the Middle East. Your Egyptologist will escort you on a tour of 7,000 years of Egyptian history with a visit to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, which includes the world-famous golden treasures from King Tutankhamen‘s tomb.
